We look for skilled professionals who...

  • Hold a higher-level degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree) in the areas of Finance or Accounting, or are a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Have a minimum of 4 years of professional experience in a finance-related position
  • Possess advanced skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and a good understanding of accounting software (preferably Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Have high numeracy skills, are skilled problem solvers, and are detail-oriented
  • Are highly organised and can easily analyse and prioritise needs
  • Possess training and skills in project management, budget management, and people management—especially the teaching and training of other staff

Finance Project Manager

ROC Required
The Finance Project Manager (FPM) oversees the financial management of the country programme, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong stewardship of resources. The FPM supports decision-making by providing timely financial insights and ensures donor and organisational requirements are met. The role reports to the Programme Development Coordinator (PDC), who is part of the Country Senior Leadership Team, ensuring close alignment between financial management and programme strategy.

Finance Specialist

ROC Required
The Finance Specialist ensures the quality and timely completion of month-end closing activities, maintains up-to-date knowledge of best practices in liquidity management, financial assurance in country program accounting processes, internal controls, and supports external statutory, donor, and internal audits, as well as Medair’s financial reporting. The role also promotes strong collaboration and effective partnerships with the Global Support Office finance teams (Finance Partner, Treasury, Corporate accounting), local Finance Managers and finance teams, and Heads of Country Programs.

Finance Manager

ROC Required
Lead and oversee all financial activities of the country program, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, strong financial stewardship, and compliance withorganizational, donor, and statutory and legal requirements. Manage and strengthen financial processes, systems, internal controls, and risk management practices to support operational efficiency and financial integrity. Provide strategicfinancial insights and decision support to country leadership, while leading and developing the finance function to ensure effective budgeting, forecasting, reporting, compliance, and performance management aligned with organizational objectives and values.

Grants Financial Manager

ROC Required
The Grants Financial Manager will support Senior Management with financial analysis and data to support timely and effective decision making. They will collaborate closely with the Global Support Office Finance Partner, Field Finance Manager and Senior Management in DR Congo to ensure sound financial management of grants, effective cost coverage, and accurate spend forecasting. The Grants manager will also support the budgeting and financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and eligibility.

Medair’s Relief & Recovery Orientation Course (ROC) is a one-week simulation course that will help determine if a humanitarian career with Medair is the right fit for you, and if you are a strong fit for Medair. After participating in the course, you will enter a “pool” of qualified candidates that are ready to be called upon to respond to humanitarian crises. When needs arise in our country programmes, we will offer you a position in line with your competencies and our needs. If you apply for an international position, the ROC will be mandatory for you to work in our country programmes.
