Why Sudan?

Compounded crises have stretched the capacity of existing infrastructure and basic services in Sudan. Chronic underdevelopment, recurrent conflict and natural disasters, and economic challenges paired with poor health infrastructure and limited access to water and sanitation infrastructure prevents many from meeting their basic needs.
Escalating conflict in neighbouring Ethiopia and persistent violence within Sudan has forced hundreds of thousands of people from their homes. Medair teams are responding to the needs of both displaced families and the communities in which they live, improving access to health and nutrition services, providing COVID-19 outreach and vaccination support, and building shelters and microdrainage infrastructure to help mitigate the risk of natural disasters.

How You Can Help

Your assistance provides foundational support as we respond to urgent needs of displaced and host communities across remote and underserved areas within Sudan. It provides COVID-19 health messaging and community health support, ensures vulnerable families can access essential health and nutrition services, and equips Medair teams to respond quickly to sudden needs. Your support is critical for Medair to expand its response and reach more families in Sudan.
