Why Somalia?

Somalia is the world’s most vulnerable country to humanitarian crises or disasters. Periods of severe drought lead to food scarcity, while conflict displaces families and makes it hard for humanitarian aid to reach people in need. Millions of people need urgent assistance but have very limited access to quality health care, nutrition, water, sanitation, or hygiene services.

How You Can Help

With over a decade of experience in the country and a network of trusted local partners, Medair is well-positioned to use your gift to reach people in Somalia who likely would not otherwise receive life-saving assistance. Your support goes to the families who need it most, providing quality health care, treatment for malnourished children, safe drinking water, shelter solutions, community health promotion, and more. Your support helps reduce Somalian families’ extreme vulnerability to crisis by strengthening capacity at the community level.
