Why Madagascar?

Madagascar faces natural disasters each year that affect thousands of people, yet they are rarely covered by international media. Indeed, Madagascar’s serious crises routinely fly under the radar, with few humanitarian NGOs present to respond to people’s needs. Severe poverty is the norm: by percentage of population, more so than any other country on earth. Prolonged drought in the south has led to severe food and water scarcity.

How You Can Help

You can bring meaningful assistance to people in Madagascar, letting them know that you care about them, even if they are neglected by much of the world. Your support helps launch life-saving emergency responses when disasters strike, and develops an innovative early-warning system to help people prepare for cyclones. Your gifts bring safe drinking water and dynamic teaching about good hygiene that can save lives in remote communities.
