Ebola Health Coordinator

The Ebola Health Coordinator will oversee all technical aspects of Medair’s Ebola response in DR Congo. Hoe beschermt Medair begunstigden tegen misbruik en uitbuiting?

Medair hanteert strikte beleidslijnen voor bescherming en veiligheid en vereist van al het personeel en alle vrijwilligers dat zij zich houden aan een uitgebreide Gedragscode. Medair hanteert een nultolerantiebeleid ten aanzien van seksuele uitbuiting, misbruik en intimidatie (SEAH) en beschikt over vertrouwelijke feedback- en klachtenmechanismen zodat begunstigden hun zorgen veilig kunnen melden.

Can I intern or volunteer with Medair?

We require those who work in our country programmes to have previous professional experience and be able to make a one-year commitment to the role assigned. Therefore, we do not offer internships in our country programmes, but would welcome you to apply upon completing your studies and gaining some further professional experience.

We do, however, sometimes offer internships at our International Headquarters in Switzerland, which you can learn more about here as well as welcome volunteers to support our various teams. Click here to learn more about volunteering with us.

Can I apply if I don’t have previous humanitarian sector experience?

Given the challenging contexts we work in, it is important that our staff be familiar and comfortable in their jobs before joining one of our country programmes. Therefore, we require our country programmes staff to have a minimum of one year’s work experience specific to their profession and/or studies.

In the case of someone who has just completed their studies, but has extensive previous experience through internships, we may make an exception on a case-by-case basis. You can learn more here about the essential criteria we look for in order to work in our country programmes.

Are there specific language requirements for working with Medair?

While our staff worldwide speak a multitude of languages, English is our unifying language within which we work together as a whole. Therefore, Medair requires that international staff who do not speak English as their first language possess 1st certificate-level English proficiency to work in our country programmes.

Hoe kunnen begunstigden hun zorgen of feedback melden bij Medair?

Medair hanteert gemeenschapsgerichte feedback- en verantwoordingsmechanismen in al haar landprogramma's, waardoor getroffen mensen zorgen, klachten of suggesties kunnen uiten. De stemmen van begunstigden worden geïntegreerd in het ontwerp en de evaluatieprocessen van programma's, in lijn met de CHS-verplichtingen.
