Ukraine two years on: Humanitarian needs are reaching catastrophic levels

On 24th February 2022, life changed for the people of Ukraine when Russia launched a full-scale invasion that marked the start of Europe’s biggest and deadliest conflict since WWII.

The impact of two years of war is summarised thus by UN Coordinator for Ukraine, Denise Brown: “… as the war ravages villages and towns close to the front line, humanitarian needs in these areas (of Ukraine) are reaching catastrophic levels.”

Every day since Medair was registered as the first NGO in Kyiv to respond to the conflict, we have played a crucial role helping and supporting victims of the war. In 2024 we keep going, distributing cash and essential household items and providing healthcare, safe water and shelter services.
