Relief and Recovery Orientation Course (ROC)

Your pathway to the field

What is the ROC?

Join your prospective Medair colleagues on a week-long immersive course to experience the realities of working in the humanitarian sector. The ROC introduces you to Medair’s values, culture, and programming and to some of the people you’ll meet in the field. The course will help determine if a humanitarian career with Medair is the right fit for you, and if you are a strong fit for Medair.

Who attends the ROC?

Everyone who desires to work in our field locations must complete the ROC. Attendance is on an invitation-only basis for candidates whose profile is considered a strong fit for a field role. Most participants who attend the ROC successfully complete the course and begin a career with Medair within several months.

Roles at the Global Support Office which involve field visits will also require completion of the ROC.

Where is the ROC located?

The ROC is normally held in Switzerland several times per year.

At the ROC, I knew for sure Medair was the organisation I wanted to work for

How to apply

If you are an experienced relief worker, but do not see a current job that fits your profile, you may apply directly to the ROC. If your profile is a strong match, we will invite you to attend and consider you for future job opportunities.
