Location

Global Support Office (GSO) position based in Zurich, Switzerland. Swiss or eligible EU citizens, or those with a valid work permit for Switzerland, can apply.

Starting Date & Initial Contract Details

June 1st, 2023. Fixed-term paid contract of 6-12 months. Working percentage of 80-100%.

Role Overview

The Philanthropy and Partnerships Intern supports the Philanthropy team in the German-speaking part of Switzerland in the following areas:

  • Identification of prospective partners (foundations and municipalities, individual major donors and corporates)
  • Development of compelling and customised funding applications and the creation of marketing material
  • Organization of events, as well as fundraising and awareness activities
  • Keeping administrative records and data up to date

Project Overview

The Philanthropy team works with a portfolio of foundations and municipalities, individual major donors and corporates that will contribute significantly to our annual fundraising targets.

Key Activity Areas

Prospect identification

  • Research on existing prospects of individual major donors
  • Desk research on new potential partners
  • Identification of potential partners’ area of interest
  • Media monitoring of potential partners
  • Support with mailings and other material

 

Donor/prospect material development

  • Support the development of personalised communication material (incl. PowerPoint presentations, applications for funding, brochures, etc.)
  • Drafting of letters and proposals etc. to partners (and prospects)

 

Events

  • Support project leaders with the organisation of events and diverse fundraising and awareness activities such as presence at conference stands

 

CRM (Salesforce)

  • Updating touchpoints with donors/prospects in our CRM
  • Completing donors’/prospects’ profiles in our CRM in terms of giving potential, interest and communication preferences
  • Creating tracking and priority reports in our CRM

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject
  • Excellent written and spoken knowledge of German (native level)
  • Good written and spoken knowledge of English (organizational language)
  • Knowledge of French is a plus

Relief & Recovery Orientation Course (ROC)

What is the ROC and why is it required?

Experience

  • Prior experience in a working/professional environment (at least prior internships)
  • Prior experience in Communication, Marketing, Fundraising is a plus
  • Advanced user of MS Office
  • Experience in CRM / sales management software is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
