Role Summary

The Project Coordinator leads and manages the implementation of field projects, ensuring strategic direction, management, and evaluation. Key responsibilities include team leadership, security oversight, and liaison with local authorities and stakeholders to achieve project objectives effectively. The role involves assessments, research, and partnership development in response to evolving needs.

Project Overview

Medair operates a multi-sectoral response in Northern Ukraine, aiding vulnerable populations in de-occupied and conflict-affected areas. The Project Coordinator will oversee delivery in Shelter, NFI, MPCA, Health, Protection, and MHPSS, while exploring new opportunities.

Workplace & Conditions

Based in Sumy, Ukraine, with travel to other locations within Ukraine.

Responsibilities:

• Support project identification and design, carrying out research and making recommendations for interventions. Facilitate collaboration with NGOs and authorities for effective project responses.

• Oversee project implementation, ensuring objectives, timelines, and budgets are met; guide managers and PMs in day-to-day decisions, and conduct monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.

• Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships, representing Medair in meetings and networks; facilitate partnerships and respond to evolving project needs effectively.

• Collaborate with team members to assess security risks, update protocols, and train staff on security measures, ensuring adherence to guidelines for team safety.

• Plan, construct, and manage project budgets in coordination with Project Managers; monitor spending and ensure compliance with donor regulations and financial guidelines.

Qualifications, Experience & Technical Competencies:

• University degree in a relevant subject such as Management/Development Studies/Business Administration

• Strong working knowledge of English (spoken and written).

• Knowledge of Humanitarian Essentials, Sphere and HAP Standards and other humanitarian guidelines and protocols.

• Experience with report and proposal writing. Experience with the OCHA clusters system.

• Overseas work experience with a relief and recovery NGO. Experience with Security Management
