Lebanon’s spiralling economy, ongoing political crisis, and an under-resourced health care system are having a huge impact on the most vulnerable people in the country: Syrian refugee and low-income Lebanese families.

Many of these vulnerable families don’t have the option to self-isolate or adhere to lockdown measures. As the cost of living continues to soar amid rapidly rising inflation, missing even one day of work could mean their family won’t be able to eat.

The resources needed to run a large-scale roll-out of COVID-19 vaccines simply aren’t available, and private vaccinations are prohibitively expensive.

We’re one of six organisations selected by Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health to run a vaccination campaign for the most vulnerable people in Lebanon.

At our vaccination clinic in Saida, just south of Beirut, we’ll be vaccinating 90,000 people against COVID-19 in the next three months.

That’s up to 3,000 people a day.

At this critical time, we are committed to being part of a global solution and serving people in hard-to-reach places. In addition to Lebanon, we are preparing to support vaccination campaigns in South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and elsewhere as the opportunity arises.

Because this global pandemic? Yeah. It’s got to end.
