Läkarmissionen's experience is that it is possible to facilitate self-help. Hundreds of former street children are now living a normal life. City health clinics' prenatal care makes mothers and babies healthier. Improved literacy rates open new paths for children and adults. The trees that are planted change the whole villages. So it is when Läkarmissionen helps people help themselves. Läkarmissionen works directly with local partners, a network of committed people who live near those who are helped.
