: Randall Zindler departs Medair; Jim Ingram appointed interim CEO

After seven years of exemplary service as Medair’s CEO, Randall Zindler will depart from the organisation at the end of January. Jim Ingram, Medair’s Director of Finance, has been appointed as interim CEO by the International Board of Trustees.

“We would like to express our sincere appreciation for all that Randall has done for Medair over the past seven years,” said Hans Gitsels, Chair of Medair’s International Board of Trustees. “Over the past year, Randall has clearly communicated his plans with us for this transition, and his great love for, and commitment to Medair, has come through very strongly.”

During his time with Medair, Randall became a father, with four children born since 2003. His transition plan includes spending time with his growing family in retreat and reflection before planning where his career will take him next.

“I offer my deepest thanks to Medair’s supporters: our Board, our staff, our funding partners,” said Randall. “You contribute so much to Medair, with so little recognition. I have been consistently humbled by your selfless efforts to make Medair a shining example of God’s love, borne out through your living commitment to the world’s most vulnerable.”

Under Randall’s leadership, Medair has grown almost three-fold, with total operating expenses growing from just under $15 million at the end of 2003 to a projected $42 million for 2011. Medair now has more than 1,600 staff members serving more than three million people throughout the year.

“We thank Randall so very much for all he has done for Medair,” said Hans. “The organisation he leaves behind is stronger financially, has improved processes and systems in place, and is strategically well-positioned for the future.”

Medair’s Board of Trustees has appointed Jim Ingram as interim CEO while the Board continues its thorough process of recruiting and selecting a new CEO.

Jim Ingram first joined Medair in February 2004. He serves as Medair’s Director of Finance, overseeing all of Medair’s financial activities worldwide. Jim sits on the Executive Leadership Team and has been involved in major organisational decisions during his tenure and throughout his career.

“Jim Ingram’s vast experience, spiritual leadership, and integrity make him the right choice for interim CEO,” concluded Hans. “Jim has the full support of the Board and the Executive Leadership Team. As a Board, we are confident that Jim will keep Medair focused on its mission, vision, and values during this transition period.”
