The French Embassy in Madagascar is a link in a vast network whose purpose is to assure the presence of France and to make France’s voice heard throughout the world. The French diplomatic network comprises 156 embassies, 20 permanent representatives, and four delegations to international organisations, 86 Consulate Generals, 10 Consulates, and four independent chancelleries. Like all the other embassies, the French Embassy in Antananarivo exercises its duties in Madagascar under the framework established under the convention on diplomatic relations signed in Vienna on 18 April 1961.
