With time running out before the deadly onset of freezing winter conditions, Medair has been trekking from village to village, urgently working to locate and provide shelter to the most isolated and vulnerable families in the mountainous Poonch District of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, where they are the only international NGO on-the-ground.

Medair is responding to a declared outbreak of Dengue Fever in the Nuba Mountains in central Sudan.
Between 23rd October and 8th November, around 324 cases were reported across the region, of which 75 people have died. Medair started its response to this outbreak as soon as it received reports of cases of haemorrhagic fever and has been asked to assist by both the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation.
