New Somalia programme
Medair is starting a programme in Somalia, working alongside local partners with a focus on health, nutrition, water & sanitation. The key roles required to do this are listed below. Medair requires staff for short and long-term work in these positions to assist with the set up of the programme and for a longer term commitment.

Location: AfghanistanProjects Coordinator
To represent Medair within the community. To produce proposals, reports and conceptual papers. Responsible for financial, staff, and security management. WatSan Projects Manager
Effectively manage the WatSan projects in line with objectives, budget and timeframe. Ensure beneficiary participation is enhanced in all phases of the project. Anticipate, plan, initiate and share in the development of new WatSan proposals. Recruit, manage & train National WatSan staff. Monitor need for additional WatSan projects. Location: Congo D.R. To design and manage the strategy, implementation, development and evaluation of Somalia health, WatSan, and Emergency Response programmes. To represent Medair for all issues related to the Somalia programme. WatSan Projects Manager

Ensure the positive immediate and long term impact of Medair West Darfur’s health programme on conflict affected population, local government and national staff. Overall coordination of and responsibility for the primary health care programme (including reproductive health (RH), public health promotion (PHP) and emergency responses). Provide support to the Projects Coordinator, and contribute to the overall project coordination in the core management team. Human Resource & Administration Manager
Manage HR related issues, promote staff development and training for both Internationally and National Recruited Staff (IRS & NRS) in Sudan (Northern States), and facilitate the effective implementation of administrative and legal issues relating to Medair. Logistics Manager
To support the smooth functioning of the West Darfur programme, by appropriate management and implementation of the logistics department and the local team, according to Medair guidelines. To implement and add to systems for Quality Control, tracking of assets and procurement. Programme Support Coordinator
Management of grants (proposal, budget, & report writing). Support to Field Project Mgrs in project & financial management, operations and implementation. Management of Khartoum office, including IRS staff. Acting Country Director during leave, etc of the Country Director. Projects Support Operations Manager
On behalf of the Programme Coordinator, to ensure the security of all programme personnel and Medair assets in West Darfur. To support the smooth functioning of the Darfur programme, by appropriate overall management of the Logistics department and Admin/Finance Department. Senior Health Manager
To ensure quality medical services for assigned health programme (clinic supervision and training). To support the Health Coordinator and cover during absence of the Health Coordinator. WatSan Coordinator
The position focuses on the overall strategy of WatSan programming, the management, planning and coordination of the implementation of the WatSan project, including the supervision and coaching of national and international staff. To facilitate achievement of the health and hygiene promotion (HHP) objectives across Medair SDS programmes – to assess and advise on response to HHP needs and to encourage adoption of healthy practices and conditions that contribute to decreased morbidity and mortality in areas of implementation as capacity permits.
