Opportunities to Work with Medair

Medair needs compassionate professionals like you

At Medair, we are always looking for committed Christians with professional experience who are ready to serve the world’s most vulnerable with practical and compassionate care.

We are known for our remarkable team spirit, particularly given our diverse cultural, racial, and linguistic backgrounds. We are united by a set of common values, shared by all of our Internationally Recruited Staff.

Our teams are composed of professionals, some of whom may be new to relief work, but all of whom have valuable work experience in their profession.

Medair’s three main sectors of expertise are:
Health Services
Water and Sanitation
Shelter & Infrastructure
We also need staff experienced in:
  • Programme or Project Management
  • Logistics
  • Finance
  • Human Resources
  • Marketing, Fundraising, or Media

These roles are needed both in our field programmes and at our international headquarters in Switzerland.

Medair works in some of the world’s most vulnerable countries: Afghanistan, Haiti, Indonesia, Madagascar, D.R. Congo, Somalia, Southern Sudan, Sudan (Northern States), and Zimbabwe.

Medair’s Field Programme Staff

At Medair, we believe it benefits our working culture to invest in teams with both Experienced Relief Workers and New Relief Workers – so we encourage applications for both types of positions.

Experienced Relief Workers

For Medair, an Experienced Relief Worker has at least 12 months of relief work experience under their belt, so the realities of on-the-ground work in the humanitarian sector are well known to them. Professionals with development experience will also be considered.

Experienced Relief Workers bring a wealth of relevant relief experience which helps maintain and improve the quality of Medair’s work in the field.

New Relief Workers

You don't need two years of experience in a war zone and a Ph.D. in International Relations to work with us. Unlike most humanitarian agencies, Medair provides opportunities for people who have never worked as relief workers before in the humanitarian sector to start as New Relief Workers with us.

In this way, qualified professionals - especially those with several years of experience in their field - have the opportunity to gain field experience while using their professional skills. They grow into experienced Medair relief workers in a real-world environment.

If you have limited or no relief work experience (less than 12 months), and you are interested in job opportunities as a New Relief Worker, click here.

Former Medair Staff

If you have already worked for Medair in the field as an Internationally Recruited Staff (IRS) or at our H.Q., you have already been part of the Medair family, so please apply for vacancies through the normal online process, or directly through your H.R. contact. You can also look at opportunities for shorter term contracts.
