Madagascar
Madagascar is one of the poorest countries in the world, and it is regularly hit by devastating cyclones that hinder its development and further endanger its vulnerable population.
Since 2002, Medair has provided humanitarian aid in Madagascar. We provide emergency relief when cyclones strike, and during the rest of the year, we help to establish disaster mitigation activities so that future cyclones cause less damage.
Medair Madagascar has also specialised in improving access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene awareness for rural populations. We employ approximately five internationally recruited staff (IRS) and 50 nationally recruited staff (NRS).
