Haiti
Medair intervened in Haiti in response to the devastating earthquake on 12 January 2010. We have provided safer shelter for earthquake-affected families in Jacmel and the surrounding rural areas. We have also provided training on safer construction throughout the communities where we work.
In March 2011, we began working in the remote and underserved region of Côtes-de-Fer. The project is addressing the communities’ need for access to water, latrines, safe shelter, as well as training and capacity building.
We currently employ approximately 15 internationally recruited staff (IRS) and 121 nationally recruited staff (NRS).
