In 2011, photojournalist Kate Holt travelled to some of Afghanistan's most isolated communities. Here, people don't fear conflict as much as they fear the sickness that can come from a drink of water. Kate took photos on behalf of the relief agency Medair, which runs health, nutrition, water, sanitation, and hygiene projects in remote Bamyan and Badakhshan provinces. While she was there, Kate documented the lives and struggles of some of Afghanistan's most forgotten people.
