With Water that Quenches the Thirst
If you are reading this now, you live in a country where safe water pours from your tap and hygienic sanitation is available in almost every home.
However, more than a billion people live their lives without easy access to safe water and sanitation (WatSan). These people are among the world’s most vulnerable because unsafe drinking water leads to killer diseases like cholera, while poor sanitation or hygiene are to blame for the deaths of more than 5,000 young children every single day.
This is heartbreaking because it’s so preventable.
That’s why Medair makes WatSan such a high priority. WatSan is one of Medair’s three core sectors of expertise, developed over the last 20 years of field experience in communities where water is scarce and sanitation facilities are non-existent.

These photos highlight some of our Water & Sanitation work in Southern Sudan. In Maban county, Medair provides clean water, builds latrines, and raises hygiene awareness for families living in temporary returnee camps. These are just a few of the millions of people who are now able to drink safe water because of Medair.
